DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: POSITION SUMMARY: The Assessment Specialist will utilize the Work Experience for Adults(WEXA) and WEXA+ model to support clients in gaining exposure to the world of work. This position will assist individuals in determining preferences, documenting progress and/or additional supports needed with service teams to gain experience that can lead to permanent CIE(Competitive Integrated Employment). This position will identify and implement work experience services within community partners that complement the individual's initial interests and schedule preferences.

The Assessment Specialist will compile results into comprehensive reports and effectively communicate results and recommendations with individuals and their service teams.

Duties include but are not limited to:  * Conduct Action Outline meetings with individuals/support teams to determine a plan for the work experience including work site development.   * Seek out external employment sites to conduct work experiences in conjunction with other departments.  * Provide necessary per -employment supports and assist in the verification of employment information.  *  Evaluate individuals' abilities and interests, using appropriate assessment methods, such as interviews and observations.

QUALIFICATIONS:  * High School Diploma or GED AND 2 years of experience working with adults with disabilities in employment settings OR  * Bachelor's degree  in psychology, disability services, social services, business, education, or other related field, 

Required Degree(s): Must be in social services, human services, psychology, rehabilitation science, or a related field. Required Experience: Experience working with adults with disabilities in employment settings required. 

REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:  * Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprints, and PATCH) prior to first day of employment.  * Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.  * CESP Certificate or ACRE certification preferred - must be able to attain within 18 months of employment.
