Role Purpose
Experienced professional with some knowledge of and experience with distribution operations principles, practices, concepts, and theories. Past Control Room experience. Nature of line mechanic work or Control Room operations is varied with some complexity, and usually has some precedent. Responsible for the completion of assigned processes or activities, requiring interpretation of distribution operations and Control Room practices. Contributes to identifying improvements to DOC Operator activities and procedures.

Through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing provides technical execution of defined activities to support the delivery of distribution operations and Control Room initiatives required to achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation objectives.
Through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing achieves results by owning and executing distribution operations and Control Room activities as defined by sub function manager.
Supports agile projects through application of defined distribution operations and Control Room approaches.
Through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing utilizes Control Room, distribution operations standards, procedures, and processes, providing recommendations for process improvements, as necessary.
Supports the escalation of any risk to delivery for line mechanics via approved Control Room standards and procedures, to help ensure business objectives are executed and met across responsible project areas.
Escalate issues to the DOC Supervisor, as necessary.
Provide communication to their Supervisor to provide status updates on daily activities, and identify risks in Control Room operations or resourcing needs.
Support senior Control Room staff to provide their Supervisor with technical project updates and Control Room operations to Manager level management on a regular basis to proactively support business objectives.
Through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing, scope of work is clearly articulated and project based, may support multiple projects to enhance distribution operations and Control Room agile approach.
Through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing responsible for management and operation of Control Room operating systems, milestones and priorities in the short-term according to established training plans and guidance.
Gain an understanding for distribution operations and Control Room profit & loss targets and operating budget.
Uses prescribes guidelines or policies to analyze and resolves problems, solves problems in straightforward situations, analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgments and precedents.
Contributes to the execution of defined activities to support the delivery of sub function initiatives required to achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation objectives.
Achieves results by executing tasks in accordance with agreed-upon plan from manager, with support from senior staff.
Applies defined sub function approaches to complete tasks, and utilizes sub function standards, procedures, and processes.
Provides communication and regular updates as requested by their manager and senior staff to provide status updates on assigned tasks, identifies risks in delivery and actively support business development objectives.
Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction, works under general supervision.
Scope of work is clearly articulated and project based, supports individual projects to enhance understanding of related technical skills.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
Secondary/High School Diploma
0-3+ years of related experience
Business acumen pertaining to the Utility industry
Strong customer focus and employee experience mindset
Knowledge of leading practices for their practice area
Planning and project management skills
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
Ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences
