Indian Health Service Motor Vehicle Operator in Pine Ridge, South Dakota

Summary This position serves as a Motor Vehicle Operator with the Pine Ridge Service Unit in Pine Ridge, SD. The incumbent will operate motor vehicles to transport patients, personnel and/or supplies to and from designated locations. The incumbent will also perform a full range of housekeeping cleaning tasks. The position reports to a work leader or a supervisor of the department. Responsibilities Transports patients, personnel and/or supplies to and from designated locations. Follows all safety rules, regulations and traffic signs, and drives carefully and avoids rough terrain and hazardous roads. Performs preventative maintenance services as required. Required to complete daily logs on vehicle operation and patient transportation. Perform a full range of housekeeping duties. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment to the position will be contingent upon a negative applicant drug test result and be subject to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug testing upon hiring. Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the federal wage system job grading standards for WG-5703. No specific length of experience is required. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out elements. Failure to meet the screen out elements will result in an ineligible rating. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: A valid State Driver's License is required to operate government-owned or -leased motor vehicles. Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is covered by a Bargaining Unit.
