    Job Summary

  • The Volunteer Coordinator is accountable for to recruit, interview, place, train, evaluate, and retain adequate, competent, and satisfied volunteer staff.

  • This position provides continuing education to volunteers.

  • In collaboration with the VP Mission, the Volunteer Coordinator prepares and manages the Volunteer Services budgets and develops written position descriptions.

  • This position works closely with leadership to identify volunteer needs and target audiences and performs other duties as assigned.

  • The Volunteer Coordinator assures that all infection prevention requirements are met by the volunteer staff prior to scheduling.

    Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

  • Good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and office computer skills. Knowledge of medical terminology recommended.

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • This job position requires that you maintain a valid driver’s license, wear a seat belt and that you are insurable under Avera’s vehicle insurance policy.

  • If you become uninsurable by the company Avera uses for automobile coverage because your driver’s license is revoked, suspended or restricted, receive moving violations, fail to use a seat belt or receive other infractions (e.g., a driving under the influence), you may no longer meet the essential functions of this job position and you may be terminated from employment.

  • Additionally, it is recommended that employees carry sufficient automobile liability and physical damage insurance to adequately protect their financial and property interests.

    Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks

  • Day shifts

  • No weekends or holidays

    Pay

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $18.25 - $23.00 per hour
