Job Title: SCADA EngineerJob Description
Our client is seeking a SCADA and Automation Engineer for their office location with the option to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful completion of assigned projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships. This role requires technical competence in primary production roles as well as leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring team members.
Responsibilities
Complete assigned projects successfully while maintaining and improving client relationships.
Design and configure network and communication paths for SCADA system equipment inside the substation or facility, and paths to data off-takers.
Specify and design communication networks including data security and availability.
Develop basic specifications for fiber optic, microwave, power line carrier, or radio communication paths.
Travel to project sites to troubleshoot and commission network and communication systems.
Develop, document, and implement logic and control schemes for remote and local operation of power system equipment.
Develop programs on various platforms for implementing control schemes and travel to project sites to test and commission these schemes.
Prepare points lists of all data to be transferred between control centers and controlled apparatus.
Assign and program data addressing and routing information, develop HMI screens, and travel to project sites to test and commission data transfer schemes.
Essential Skills
Experience with SCADA, electrical engineering, PLC programming, and HMI programming.
Knowledge of high voltage and power distribution systems.
Experience with substation and relay systems.
Proficiency in networking and communication protocols such as DNP, Modbus, SEL Communication Protocol, IEC, TCP/IP, UDP, and Ethernet.
Proficiency in logic and control platforms such as SEL RTAC, NovaTech, GE-D20, PLCs, Lua, and Python.
Experience with applicable software including Wonderware, Clearview, AcSELerator RTAC, NovaTech NCD/Inkscape, Visual Basic, OSIPI, and Python scripting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Requires a BSEE (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering).
At least 5 years of industry experience.
EIT (Engineer In Training) or PE (Professional Engineer) license, with PE preferred.
Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
