Under general direction, responsible for procurement of specialized items and executing buying complex strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship. Analyzes market and industry conditions and develops supply recommendations. Interviews sales representatives and vendors. Handles complex assignments and may train and coach junior buyers.

The purpose of the Senior Procurement Associate role is to assist in managing all day-to day activities under the scope of Manufacturing Procurement, delivering value to the business through operational processes and services.

This position will report in the Planning Manager and will sit at our Phillipsburg, NJ location.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Logistics Management or related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in purchasing/logistics role - minimum 3-5 years' experience
    • Proficient in Excel and SAP (Power Bi advantageous)
    • Requires specialized or advanced knowledge of operational and supply chain business practices

How you will create an impact:

  • Delivers solutions to technical, customer service, or operational objectives that are complex and have a moderate impact to the business
  • Identifies and resolves business and process problems where solutions are not readily available
  • Manages all aspects of daily purchasing management.
  • Resolves all goods inwards queries with regards to deliveries/stock/purchase orders' as appropriate.
  • Manages the alignment of Pricing.
  • Generates purchase orders and reviews requisitions, running PO reports when necessary.
  • Delivery of agreed metrics using TDM & ABS tools.
  • Resolve or escalate open PO service issues when necessary.
  • Support release of NPI's and new product or supplier releases as required.
  • Manages exceptions to the rule (Open PO Management).
  • Co-ordinates with tactical support teams.
  • Liaises with the sales and customer service teams to ensure all information regarding open purchase orders is communicated.
  • Coordinates with transport in conjunction with import and export shipments.
  • Liaises with freight forwarders for shipment arrangements.
  • Leads regular supplier operational meetings, highlighting service issues and finding suitable solutions.
  • Able to mentor, train & guide junior/intermediate associates
