A Brief Overview Performs a variety of tasks related to the review, assembly and verification of patient meal menu selections using hospital and department automated systems. Verifies nutrition care orders against menu selections. Performs required quality improvement monitoring activities.
What you will do Maintains a friendly customer service attitude toward customers, co-workers and clients. Prints required Room Service reports including census, diet lists, snack labels, malnutrition pathway reports and other designated reports. Handles telephone for verbal requests, orders and other business calls with hospital telephone etiquette standards. Reviews, assembles and verifies patient nutrition care orders. Adheres to diet prescriptions and nutrition care standards for all specialty patient diets. Prepares and processes food orders for patient and family menus per Room Service procedures. Tallies any requested reports and information as requested for Room Service program. Maintains confidentiality of patient information. Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to render care and services based on age appropriateness and developmental needs of patients. Practices safe work procedures. Attends meetings as required, in-services and participates on committees as directed. Maintains compliance with department and hospital standards of operation. Maintains all records and reports necessary to comply with department/hospital, government, accrediting agency standards regulations and codes. Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 19667, as amended and the Americans with Disabilities Act as amended. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications High School Diploma / GED Required
Experience Qualifications At least three (3) years nutrition and/or hospital experience in diet office and specialty diets Preferred
Skills and Abilities Must have excellent customer service skills-telephone. Computer skills-word, excel and department (CBORD)/hospital (EPIC) programs and hospital call center system (Symposium).
