Temple University Part Time Asst Director Low Income Tax Clinic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Summary: The Part Time Assistant Director assists the Director in all aspects of Clinic operations. The Assistant Director is primarily responsible for staffing the Clinic when students are scheduled to be there, providing oversight and guidance with respect to the tax law and tax procedure in the course of the students' work on behalf of clients. Together with the Director, they will review students' work product. The Assistant Director also handles cases directly when students are not available or need help. The Part Time incumbent will be responsible for administration of the Clinic, including scheduling students' work hours, keeping track of cases and incoming mail, making sure case records are up to date, and fielding inquiries from clients and the IRS. The Assistant Director participates in the drafting of reports required by the LITC Program Office and compiles necessary information. The Part Time Assistant Director will work on special projects including outreach, educational events, and systemic advocacy and teaching units of the Clinic seminar. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree and at least five (5) years of directly related experience in a legal setting, such as, legal assistant, paralegal. Experience in a Low-Income Tax Clinic is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Advanced research and writing skills. *Demonstrated verbal and written communication along with the ability to effectively interact with students and clients. *Computer experience to include Microsoft Office, Outlook, OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. *Knowledge of tax law and procedure. *Superior legal judgment. *Independent and a self-starter.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
