System One Fundraising Specialist (grant writing) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Location: Philadelphia, PA OR Remote

Hours: Part-time; potential to increase

Joule has an opening for an individual that has experience seeking grants and leading the process to obtain them. The Fundraising Specialist is responsible for the identification of new funding prospects and grant opportunities and the writing of complex grant proposals for an oncology research and scientific organization. Incumbent is also responsible for building relationships that accomplish the goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and identifies new governmental, foundation, and private funding opportunities to further oncology research.

  • Draft reports for executive management detailing funding prospects.

  • Maintain detailed records of all relationships and funding.

  • Makes initial contact with potential funders and establishes connections therewith.

  • Writes and submits grant proposals and compiles all components of each grant submission, ensuring that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements.

  • Attend in person meetings if deemed necessary.

  • Creates and distributes reports, summaries, and analyses as requested.

    Requirements:

  • Grant Writing experience.

  • Five years minimum of clinical research-related grant writing and management

  • Experience with a variety of federal, state, foundation, and private healthcare and health research-focused grant submissions (e.g., PCORI grants, Pew grants, tobacco settlement fund grants, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree is preferred.
