Summary :
Reporting to the VP, Enterprise Strategy, the Director, Strategic Initiatives provides strategic thinking and business development supports to Penn Medicine leaders. Penn Medicine is an integrated health system with multiple hospitals in the region. The Director, Strategic Initiatives, in partnership with the VP for Enterprise Strategy and business development will support the development and integration of strategic plans and initiatives in service of the long-term goals of the health system. The Director, Strategic Initiatives will collaborate with leaders across all of the entities and in business development to monitor market data and system analytics to track progress against strategic plans.
As the health system has expanded, each hospital has brought a strong clinical portfolio of programs and providers. The Director will be responsible for supporting the strategic success of the health system by partnering with leaders across the heath system to advance coordination between and across entities, programs, strategic partners and drive growth integration and new program development.
Responsibilities :
Support internal clinical and administrative leadership to develop, recommend and execute on strategic opportunities to support the maintenance of successful programs and/or growth of current or new programs. This position will also be responsible for leading the development of business plans (in collaboration with SDS) to develop internal programs which drive Penn Medicine business expansion
Collaborate with entity and project teams and leaders to ensure that resource requests are aligned with strategic priorities and are ultimately delivered on time and on budget
Partner with clinical leaders to assess new programs and innovations, in partnership with division/department administrative leaders
Work with data teams to build and understand marketing and financial data and analytics that inform strategic initiatives. Work with data sets to answer critical strategic questions; present data and information
Collaborate with entity financial leaders to provide data, information, assessment of programmatic requests
Manage multiple projects to a high degree of quality
Frame meetings and structure projects by identifying the issue/problem, outlining the project scope and facilitating the project team engagement and delivering final product(s)
Research and analyze the competitive landscape to identify opportunities, threats, and trends
Monitor and report on the progress of strategies, plans, and initiatives
Support the executive team in decision-making and problem-solving
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and external organizations.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
And 8+ years Relevant experience leading strategic planning efforts in health care or relatable area with experience leading pieces of strategic, program or business planning efforts
Or
Master of Arts or Science (Required)
And 5+ years Relevant experience leading strategic planning efforts in health care or relatable area with experience leading pieces of strategic, program or business planning efforts
Ability to drive performance and lead through influence to ensure success; Self-directed with the ability to be agile (required)
