Program Overview

The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.

Role Overview

This role supports Program Management within the CONNECT FDX Program Management team, which is focused on innovating, building and operating the best in class, most reliable access network for our customers . The Co-Op Student in this position will work side by side with our decision makers, project managers, and engineers as they become involved in every aspect of a program manager’s job. They’ll gain hands on experience in what it takes to drive technical software and hardware development roadmaps which deliver new and improved services on our industry leading nationwide edge network.

This team is highly visible to all layers of management up through our Chief Network Officer. We have tight timelines to keep our product delivery schedules ahead of our competition, so clear representation of our status against the timeline and mitigations for issues that could impact our delivery is the space we drive. The Co-Op will work among a supportive group of seasoned Program Managers and will have opportunities to be mentored by the team, work on a variety of projects and be granted an amount autonomy to drive their own efforts once up to speed on the technology. The intention is for this Co-Op to pick up work from the previous Co-Op, and so there is identified scope and room for this Co-Op to continue to build on the efforts in flight.

Co-op responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the tracking of decisions and actions during daily vendor software delivery and QA status sync

  • Monitor daily CRAID updates and communicate new issues and risks to Program Managers

  • Communicate program status to Program Manager team in weekly staff meeting to keep team aligned on progress and key decisions from past week

  • Maintain team wiki pages to continually evolve and communicate our Program workflows

  • Develop and maintain JIRA dashboards to support market progression readiness checks

  • Drive continual improvement by analyzing current workflows and implementing suggested solutions

  • Identify new opportunities to create training aides to support the awareness and understanding of FDX

  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner

  • Complete work accurately and meet all deadlines

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Majors: Engineering, Software, or Business major recommended, focus in project management a plus

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track .

  • Experience in the following apps: Confluence, Excel, SmartSheet , PowerPoint

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Good problem solving ability and interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal

  • Flexibility to adapt and respond to changing priorities and requirements

  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 23 , 2024 through March 28, 2025 .

  • Available to report in-person to the work location provided above.

Salary:

Base Pay: $32.00
