Climbing Wall Attendant-Temp

Job Description Summary

The Climbing Wall Attendant's most important duty is the safety of climbers/equipment and belaying our members. CWAs are also responsible for member check-ins and assisting at special events including DRIA team rentals, outside rentals, and special events/programs. Finally, this position will assist cleaning and maintaining equipment including climbing shoes, harnesses, climbing ropes, carabiners, and rock holds.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Knowing and enforcing the Climbing Wall rules consistently

  • Belaying climbers

  • Shoe rentals and sanitization

  • Completing daily checks and checklists as required

  • Customer service (member check-in, etc.)

  • Maintaining a courteous and polite demeanor

  • Attending staff meetings and trainings as required

  • Meeting evaluation expectations (including orientation quizzes and other follow-ups)

  • Working special events as needed

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Verifying member reservations

  • Wall opening/closing duties

  • Climbing equipment safety inspections

Qualifications

All candidates must have experience climbing and belaying. Candidates with their Climbing Wall Instructor Certification (CWI) are preferred, but it is not a requirement.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
