The organization serves both children and adults, with programs tailored to both groups respectively.

BLK serves both Pennsylvania and Georgia, and serves over 5,000 people annually.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Specialist to join our non-profit organization. As a Behavioral Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing behavioral support and interventions for individuals with diverse needs. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of effective behavior plans, aiming to enhance the overall well-being and quality of life for those we serve. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and their families within a non-profit setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments to evaluate individuals' strengths, needs, and areas for intervention.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, educators, and caregivers, to develop individualized behavior plans and strategies.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions and behavior management techniques tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
  • Provide direct support and coaching to individuals, caregivers, and other stakeholders to promote consistent and effective implementation of behavior plans.
  • Monitor and track individuals' progress and behavior changes, using data collection and analysis methods to measure the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as needed.
  • Train and support staff members, including direct care providers and educators, in implementing behavior plans and strategies.
  • Provide crisis intervention and behavior support during challenging situations, utilizing de-escalation techniques and crisis management protocols.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, such as schools, social services, and healthcare providers, to ensure coordinated care and support for individuals.
  • Stay updated on current research, best practices, and advancements in the field of behavioral interventions, attending professional development opportunities as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and treatment summaries, in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, or a related field is preferred. Bachelor's degree with 5 years relevant experience will be considered.
  • 3 years experience working with children with autism
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Behavior Technician Certification (RBT), Professional Counselor, Social Worker or Psychologist is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of behavioral theories, interventions, and strategies, particularly within the context of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Experience conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on the principles of ABA.
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and graphing methods to monitor individuals' progress and track behavior changes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills t collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, individuals, and their families or caregivers.
  • Ability to adapt to the specific needs and preferences of individuals and implement person-centered approaches.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to supporting the well-being and growth of individuals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical guidelines, and respect the rights and privacy of individuals and their families.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in using technology and software applications for documentation, data collection, and analysis
