Pentagon Force Protection Agency Administrative Support Assistant in Pentagon, Virginia

Summary The mission of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) is to provide force protection, security, and law enforcement to safeguard personnel, facilities, infrastructure, and other resources for the Pentagon Reservation and designated DoD facilities (hereinafter referred to as "the Pentagon Facilities") within the National Capital Region (NCR). PFPA addresses the full spectrum of threats by utilizing a balanced approach of comprehensive protective intelligence and counterintelligence analysis. Responsibilities Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Provides the day-to-day operations, responding to inquiries, providing information relative to all building pass matters, procedures, regulations, and resolving minor problems. Provides authoritative interpretations and guidance to management officials, other security specialists at various levels and resolves minor incidents involving conflicts. Assists in development, maintenance, and execution of concepts of operations, standard operating procedures and ensures all are in alignment with operations. Interprets DoD and national policy and assists with developing local policy and implementing instructions. Provides access control oversight, support and direction to other Division support personnel, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and applicable security requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-08 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience: For the GS-08, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience responding to inquiries, analyzing request and developing and processing documents with various software systems. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education There is no substitution of education for the specialized experience at the GS-08 grade level. Additional Information A one year probationary or trial period may be required.
