DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The State Employees' Retirement System seeks an individual to serve as an administrative assistant in our Bensalem Regional Counseling Center. This role supports grieving families as they educate and facilitate the death benefit process when a member collecting a monthly pension payment dies. The position also assists in receiving visitors, answering telephones, opening and distributing mail, and scanning, and indexing returned forms.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 0800 to 1630, with a one-hour unpaid meal period 1230 to 1330. 37.5-hour work week, Monday through Friday.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time (hybrid telework schedule) up to 2 days a week, depending on operational needs and progress in learning assigned tasks. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report on-site at the work location specified in this job posting.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
