Why This RoleThe role is based in the GF Malaysia office in Penang, Malaysia. The GF Malaysia office serves as a key hub providing engineering resources to supplement GF’s global fab operations on a real-time basis. Through the monitoring of key production processes, performance metrics and tool uptime, the GF Malaysia team will be able to provide important round-the-clock support for our global manufacturing operations.

As the ideal candidate, you will leverage your analytical and problem-solving skills and play a vital role to manage Fab WIP to ensure operational targets on Fab cycle time and On Time Delivery (OTD) are met.

What You Will Do

  • Plan and strategize daily WIP movement with Manufacturing team to meet fabout and shipment targets.

  • Co-ordinate and establish operational plans with QA and Planner to expedite urgent OTD or critical lots

  • Work with the reporting team to establish a comprehensive report to enable clear visualization of the fab performance

  • Generate and maintain lot start criteria to optimize fab WIP movement.

  • Establish recovery plans to meet OTD performance and Fab KPIs.

  • Establish plans to maintain healthy percentage of Bullet/Priority one lots in the line.

  • Work with Engineering and planning to ensure Fab / Engineering inventory, Rom Bank and Zero Bank WIP are kept at optimum level.

  • Continuous improvement in WIP management system.

  • Working with the IE/MFG/Engineering to achieve the ramp plan for new devices via tool qualification and process readiness.

  • Review RTD and Automation team to ensure optimized WIP movement.

What You Will Need

  • MS/BS in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemistry & Physics and other relevant qualification.

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in semiconductor production control, preferably in wafer fab production.

  • Good team player, able to work independently, resourceful, willing to learn new skills with good initiatives.

  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written).
