Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Technical Writer in the manufacturing industry, based in PELLA, Iowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing technical documents. You will leverage your skills in Adobe FrameMaker, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign, among others, to produce high-quality operating and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, write, and edit technical and instructional materials such as operating and maintenance manuals.

• Utilize Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop to create and edit documents.

• Use AutoCAD and other 2D or 3D graphical programs to create technical diagrams and illustrations.

• Work with complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to develop accurate, detailed content.

• Maintain consistency in content and ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the target audience.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy of information.

• Convert technical information into concise, readable, unambiguous, and coherent documents.

• Utilize graphic design skills to enhance the visual presentation of technical information.

• Ensure all created documents meet industry standards and company guidelines.

• Continually update and revise documents as necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker, AutoCAD, Autocad Electrical, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign

• Demonstrated skills in 2D Illustration, 3D Illustration, and Graphic Design

• Experience in creating Operating Manuals and Maintenance Manuals

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer in the Manufacturing industry

• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience

• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in work

• Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or related field is preferred

• Willingness to continuously update skills and knowledge to keep up with industry changes
