Job Summary

The Quality Operator audits and inspects in process sheet line production, monitors manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with customer specifications, and ensures finished product meets quality standards.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs dimensional tests on assigned product line production batches
  • Responsible for identifying and placing material on internal non-conforming Hold if questionable quality or out of specification.
  • Work and problem solve with production leadership on shift quality concerns.
  • Ensuring all required line testing is completed and recorded. Records test results on-line paperwork and in SAP Software.
  • Collect, evaluate, and store product retain samples from production during the production run.
  • Performs daily calibrations on lab equipment.

``` - Participate in investigations of customer complaints and corrective actions as needed. - Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards. - Provide employee guidance in everyday tasks and be involved with training of new employees on the production floor/Quality department as needed. - Communicate and report out, quality shift summary to the following incoming shift - Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the Spartech Competencies required for all jobs, the following qualifications are required for this job:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Problem Solving Techniques while working alongside a Team.
  • 2 to 5 years quality/lab experience in manufacturing environment. Visual inspection and or color experience is desirable.
  • Experience in plastic extrusion, web converting, or films preferred

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally handle up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities may be required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. Work is inside and the typical noise level fluctuates from moderate to loud. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
