Key job responsibilities

  • Use a range of metrics and models to forecast, link operational objectives to financials, and determine opportunities for improvement

  • Explore data to ensure reporting accuracy, and share financial analysis with business partners to support strategic business decisions

  • Produce a financial and operational plan to support business priorities, and lead on associated projects

  • Support with training new team members and contribute to onboarding plans

  • Maintain and build tools for your team to support knowledge sharing and help to standardise processes across EU teams

A day in the life

Amazon is seeking a Analytics Business Partner to join the EU Finance Analytics team, based at any locations in Italy (Corporate or on-site).

This is a role which requires the potential candidate to have both strong business partnering skills combined with advance technical skills. The ideal candidate must have high attention to detail, basic project management skills, the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, understands how data flows through Amazon’s databases and platforms, knows the right data to use for detailed analysis and adhoc business requests.

This position is office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon’s current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements.

Additionally, this position is a 12 months assignment as a replacement for maternity leave with future potential transfer within the company.

Key job responsibilities:

• Standardize, consolidate, automate and enhance daily and weekly reporting across EU, cooperating with CF Finance and Ops BP’s as primary customers

• Identify, create and consolidate best practice reporting so BPs are using accurate data to make correct decisions

• Proactively identify and scope out potential initiatives to support BP’s

• Provide support to BP’s for adhoc requests with work received and prioritized via a SIM ticket queue

• Identify analysis / reports that would benefit other sites – all EU, country or FC type – and scale accordingly

• Identify repetitive requests for analysis and builds tools and reports to meet the demand to maximize automation of routine tasks

• Create and maintain an automation roadmap for Finance Organization

• Build strong relationship with counterparties that are not its main customer in order to ensure that team work is not overlapping with other teams’ responsibilities, e.g., mainly S&A, FP&A, ACES, PE

• Has ownership of data sets incoming into its own server and deprecation of data sources / servers

• Performing data sets checks for any data entering own cluster/server which further sources data for EU Finance Analytics owned tools and EU wide CF Finance downstream teams dependent on data

This role will allow you to work independently, whilst also working closely with our partners to provide the insights they need. You’ll be predominantly based in one of our corporate offices but may also be based in another of our sites.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment

  • The ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions

  • Strong written and oral communication skills combined with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads

  • An understanding of finance issues in an operational environment of rapid growth.

  • Solid business judgment and controllership focus
