*Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  *Prepares components and materials according to prescribed illustrations and SOPs necessary for properly treating and processing parts.  Cleaning of parts by various methods including but not limited to hand scrubbing, air tools, degreaser, and steam cleaning.  The powder coat and blasting worker must be efficient in this fast-paced environment.

  • Verify parts count
  • Inspect incoming materials for defects. Inspect incoming parts for items that will not withstand 400-degree temperatures.   Clean metal parts using the appropriate method, including alcohol degreaser, sanding, media blasting, and steam cleaning.

     

  • Hang or rack clean parts for powder coating in accordance with SOPs or as directed by a supervisor.

  • Move parts to powder coating station.

     

  • Remove parts from racks after cooling and package for delivery to the customer.

     

  •   Periodically works (within the scope of knowledge and skills level required for production needs) at different stations or rotates from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.

     

  • Operates and maintains the following tools, and workstations: "Dustless Blasting System," Steam Cleaner, Air Compressors, Air Filters to remove water and contaminates, Electric sanders, Wire wheel and bench grinder, air tools, cut-off wheels, and saws as needed.   

     

  • Performs other duties assigned as subsequent business needs dictate.

     

This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, due diligence is an individual's responsibility for every task.  Example: The Powder Coating and Blasting Technician 1must maintain quality work performance to ensure that the final product is one of high quality.
