West Virginia Employer Foster Care Social Worker in Parkersburg, West Virginia

Qualifications: BFOQ: Drivers License and automobile coverage for competion of duties. Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Check. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work or a related human services field; social work license or eligibility required. Will have the ability to work with children, youth and families. Will take a new graduate and will train accordingly to our standards. Availability for periodic on-call support at times. Ability to understand and support the values of family-centered services, which include committing to family stability and development of skill in assessing risk to children to ensure safety. Willingness to comply with professional standards as specified by the NASW Code of Ethics. Description: Position is primarily responsible for recruiting, training, and completing comprehensive home studies for prospective foster and adoptive parents. Screen referrals and assess the appropriateness of the foster care program for children and youth. Place children with foster and/or adoptive families who are best able to meet the needs of that child and/or sibling group. Pay is $33,600 to $38,600 per year and will be specifically determined at interview.
