FM Global Renewables Engineering Intern in PARK RIDGE, Illinois

As an intern, you’ll bring your engineering expertise to life, learning how we protect clients from fires, explosions, earthquakes, floods, and more.

During your internship, you’ll engage in Renewable Energy research, participate in office tasks, and work on real projects in the office and out in the field. Dive deep into Onshore Wind, Ground-Mounted PV Solar, and Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage technologies. Join us in supporting clients who design, build, operate, and maintain Renewable Energy assets.

  • Learn about Renewable Energy risks and resilient approaches.

  • Participate in FM Global training on building resilient Renewable Energy assets.

  • Interact and shadow team members within FM Global’s Renewable Energy Unit to gain a well-rounded understanding of the unit and engineering team. Review equipment hazards (Onshore Wind, PV solar, Lithium Ion batteries).

  • Document risk analysis and provide recommendations.

  • Lead a technical projects.

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, chemical, mechanical, industrial, electrical, etc.)!

  • Full-time availability during summer internship

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

  • Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office
