Job Summary

Plans, directs and manages the Training and Development of technical Team Members in all facilities. This will include engineering and technician training programs as well as developing a technician trainee pool. Provide exceptional and responsive apprenticeships and innovative training programs with cutting-edge technical curriculum. Create and revise technical education curriculum for multiple content areas including Molding, Coatings, Assembly and Tooling.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Identifies, designs, conducts and/or arranges for training and development for new and existing technical Team Members.

    1. Collaborate with company subject matter experts (SMEs) within the organization to develop training.

    2. Creates and implements technical training programs to provide employees with a blended approach to learning, such as coaching/mentoring, classroom training, 1-2-1 sessions, action learning, and e-learning.

    3. Leads Apprenticeship and Trainee programs with support from plant Training Supervisors who will provide day to day supervision over apprentices and trainees.

    a. Collaborate and partnership with local community colleges regarding technical training.

    b. Seek out and apply for grants to support technical training.

    1. Work closely with plant technician trainers and their managers to create employee development plans, set performance metrics and evaluate progress/productivity.

    2. Develop, revise and maintain technical manuals, maintenance programs and SOSs to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of company equipment and tooling.

    3. Trains and coaches other technical Managers, Supervisors and Trainers on content and programs so they can support technical training strategies.

    4. Develop internal communication channels to share information regarding technical training programs, expectations and updates.

    5. Conducts online surveys with participants, analyzes reports and observes training in person to evaluate and measure training effectiveness.

    6. Develop management reports to measure completion and effectiveness of technical training.

    7. Support and maintain a database of all company technical training programs in LMS.

    8. Budget, organize and facilitate the necessary supplies to support technical training and Tech training Dojos.

    9. Directs and assigns work to the training and development department team as necessary.

    10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Associate’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline plus at least 8 years or more of related manufacturing and/or training experience OR

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline plus at least 5 years of related manufacturing and/or training experience

    2. Prior experience in supervision and/or with conducting training sessions in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

    3. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

    a. Ability to design, present and implement training programs.

    b. Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

    c. Organizational and planning skills.

    d. Ability to function effectively balancing multiple strategic projects

    e. Project management skills working with cross-functional teams

    f. Highly collaborative and ability to influence and manage both within and across teams

    g. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Plex, Adobe, plus training multimedia and LMS programs.

    h. Leadership and coaching skills.

    i. Written and verbal communication plus excellent presentation skills.

    j. Interpersonal skills to professionally and confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority.
