Meta is seeking a Principal Research Scientist to join our Core Learning team at FAIR, an organization focused on making research breakthroughs in AI. 1. Influence and drive strategy for long-term ambitious research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines

2. Form internal partnerships, influence, resolve conflict, build alignment, and work effectively across teams and disciplines throughout the company to execute the strategy

3. Call out opportunities and risks across multiple research teams

4. Influence progress of relevant research communities by producing publications

5. Be a role model for inclusive behaviors and a culture that values, respects and taps into different backgrounds and perspectives

6. Mentor researchers

7. Make the company better through engaging in cross-company efforts like recruiting, cross-functional partnerships, diversity & inclusion initiatives, or site initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

8. Experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on AI research

9. Ph.D. and established track record of leading influential research, e.g. as evidenced by high-impact publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, ACL, Interspeech and ICASSP)

10. Experience building and executing on long-term research strategies

11. Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers, as well as non-technical audiences

12. Significant experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on AI research

13. Track record of translating research into business impact

14. Experience working with a variety of cross-functional peers and stakeholders (e.g., product managers, data scientists, designers, engineers, policy, communications, marketing)

15. Experience in managing research teams in academic and industrial settings

16. Strong command of the mathematics necessary to conduct rigorous theoretical research
