Job Type: Long and Short Term Travel Contracts (Available Immediately)

Location: Various locations (Domestic USA)

Compensation: Excellent Comp Plans. Salary Negotiable

Position Overview: ACI Federal Healthcare Division is seeking experienced and dedicated Psychiatrists for immediate long and short-term travel contracts. This is a unique opportunity for professionals who enjoy diverse work environments and are committed to providing exceptional psychiatric care. Positions are available at various locations in the US right now.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatments to patients.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Prescribe and manage medications as part of a patient's treatment plan.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

  • Conduct therapy sessions and crisis intervention when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

  • Adhere to all relevant medical laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

  • Travel to different locations as required by contract assignments.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree with a specialization in Psychiatry.

Board Certification in Psychiatry.

Valid state medical license(s) and the ability to obtain additional licensure as needed.

Proven experience in psychiatric care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health disorders.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Flexibility and willingness to travel and adapt to various work environments.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with telepsychiatry and remote patient management.

Multilingual skills to accommodate diverse patient populations. Not required but preferred.

Prior experience in travel or locum tenens positions. Not required but preferred.

Position Psychiatrist - Travel Contracts/Locum

Position Requirements

Essential Job Functions

  • Referring a patient for psychological testing to determine a diagnosis and its severity

  • Recommending and designing a treatment plan

  • Talking to the patients’ about their problems to try to resolve them (psychotherapy or talk therapy)

  • Exploring the patients’ past experiences to learn how they affect their current state of mind and behavior (psychoanalysis)

  • Helping patients change their thought processes and behavior (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT)

  • Prescribing medication that can alter chemical imbalances affecting the patient’s state of mind and behavior

Psychiatrists perform these duties to help their patients recover from mental illnesses or manage their symptoms.

Essential Skills

  • Interpersonal Skills: A psychiatrist must be able to establish rapport with a patient and gain their trust.

  • Communication Skills: They need excellent speaking and listening skills to work with patients and their families as well as other healthcare providers.

  • Critical Thinking: Psychiatrists must weigh the merits of different treatments and decide how to best help their patients.

  • Monitoring: They must evaluate their patients’ response to treatment and make changes as needed.

  • Integrity: Psychiatrists, like all doctors, must honor the confidentiality of all interactions with their patients.
