Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in PAINESVILLE TWP, Ohio. The role involves managing the accounts payable duties for two companies and providing accounting support. This role will be based on-site, with some flexibility for in-home appointments.

Responsibilities:

• Managing accounts payable for one startup company and another company with two locations

• Three-way matching of purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices

• Processing check runs and uploading positive pay files to the bank

• Coding and entering Non-PO invoices

• Processing wires and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions on the bank website and recording them in the accounting system

• Managing new vendors and maintaining payables files

• Balancing accounts payable to the general ledger and managing the accuracy of the supplier database

• Conducting credit checks for new customers and performing some account reconciliations in Excel

• Updating the daily banking spreadsheet and managing cash

• Conducting month-end bank reconciliation and maintaining several Excel spreadsheets tracking various cost trends

• Making journal entries into the accounting system related to depreciation, payroll, and accruals

• Streamlining the accounts payable process to allow more time for other activities. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Experience with IBM AS/400

• Knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficient in Check Processing

• Solid Data Entry skills

• Ability to handle and resolve Discrepancies in accounting records
