Actalent Test Technician in Oxnard, California

Job Title: Test TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical Technician with expertise in working with space and aerospace flight hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Box and unbox spacecraft from shipping crates

  • Prepare rigging of spacecraft for critical lifting operations

  • Secure/remove spacecraft to/from vibration table and vibration fixturing before/after testing

  • Install/remove spacecraft harnessing, protective covers, MLI, antenna hats, and other ground support equipment as required

  • Install/remove accelerometers

  • General preparation of test space to setup benches and workstations

Essential Skills

  • 5-10+ years of experience with space/aerospace flight hardware

  • Experience with ESD sensitive electronics and familiarity with ESD practices

  • Experience with overhead bridge cranes or other industrial lifting equipment and safe rigging practices

  • Ability to climb ladders up to 6' and work on/around vibration test equipment at heights up to 6'

  • Experience with standard hand tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, and torque wrenches

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with satellite systems and/or spacecraft preferred

  • Experience working in ISO Class 8 (or higher) cleanroom environments preferred

  • Experience working with delicate optics, installing and removing protective lens covers is nice to have

  • Experience working with vibration test equipment is nice to have

Work Environment

This role requires work in a clean room environment with exposure to ESD sensitive devices and vibration test equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
