Job Description Summary

Manage all aspects of the ordering process for purchasing parts that are needed for maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment for Miami University. Typical hours for this position are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

 

 

Job Description

Essential Duties

  • Manage all aspects of purchasing and distribution while taking into account cost-effective solutions (replace vs. repair).
  • Purchase supplies related to Miami's maintenance and repair operations that generally range in price between $200 and $5,000.
  • Communicate the status of orders with Maintenance and repair technicians.
  • Receive order confirmations from vendors; monitor status of orders and work with vendors on delayed orders.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

     

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree, or vocational or technical school degree.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with maintenance and repair operations. Resourceful and detail orientated with a high degree of organizational skills. A collaborative team member with market knowledge, especially related to the procurement of campus support service supplies and goods related to physical facilities department services. Significant analysis and interpretation of varied situations with multiple possible solutions. Existing practices are used as guidelines to determine specific work methods.
