Job Title: Accounting Manager - Lease Accounting

Aston Carter is working with a large company in the Kansas City area that is seeking to hire an Accounting Manager with a background in lease accounting (ASC 842). Job Description

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for recording journal entries, reconciling complex ledger accounts, and identifying opportunities for process or format improvements. You will understand business drivers and their effects on financial results to ensure changes are accurately reflected in financial statements, analyses, and communications. Your role includes ensuring accounting records and monthly accounting close activities are adequately prepared, maintained, and explained in a timely manner. You will manage large volumes of transactional level data, review work submitted by accountants, provide functional advice, and ensure the implementation of accounting control procedures. Additionally, you will produce timely ad-hoc reports, participate in cross-departmental projects, and communicate the impact of new programs or system changes on existing accounting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Masters and CPA preferred

  • 5+ years of accounting experience working for a large company

  • Lease accounting experience (ASC 842)

  • Manager level experience

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Environment

Hybrid work schedule with 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
