THE ROLE:

This role will support the shared services infrastructure mission by delivering project and operational outcomes within the Platform Services team, which is responsible for data centers, compute, virtualization, storage, and data protection across the Oshkosh enterprise.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Manage a team of information technology professionals which includes hiring and training new team members, performance management, annual reviews, career coaching, and technical, leadership and personal development program guidance.

  • Lead and participate in complex business, infrastructure, and security projects.

  • Learn and adopt new technologies and best practices for private and public cloud, integration, automation, and process improvement. Actively support the creation and advancement of the strategic roadmap.

  • Continuously monitor and analyze components of the ecosystem and support activities to augment or reallocate capacity as necessary.

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the IT function to ensure effective delivery of operational components of incident management including detection, response, and reporting.

  • Deliver internal IT customer service excellence by negotiating service levels and ensuring delivery of business commitments.

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal customers to ensure a thorough understanding of business and technical objectives as well as across the Global IT team.

  • Ensure the effective use of IT project methodologies by providing oversight for area IT projects, providing expert guidance on deliverables, process, and approach. Manage project plans and resource capacity.

  • Partner with business leaders to understand direction and identify opportunities for business optimization and process improvement.

  • Govern effective internal processes, financial controls, and security practices. Develop IT, business policies, and audit requirements.

  • Review and approve annual plans and budgets and ensure ongoing spending aligns with business objectives and propose and implement changes as appropriate.

  • Ensure alignment of IT operations, project approach, architecture and management with the overall global IT targets and approach.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE:

  • Must be a US PERSON

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent.

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in infrastructure with a focus on data center, virtualization, Windows and Linux server operating systems, storage, and data protection technologies.

  • Highly strategic and influential.

  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three (3) or more years of management experience.

  • Graduate degree in Information Technology, Management or equivalent.

  • Relevant industry recognized certifications (VMware, Microsoft, CISSP, PMP, etc.)

  • Previous experience at a Fortune 500 company and/or company with government contracts.

  • Previous experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, etc.

  • Azure commercial and government cloud (GCCH) experience.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity and compliance, including PCI, SOC, and HIPPA requirements for information systems and industry best practices, such as NIST 800-53 and 800-171.

  • Ability to interact with company personnel, build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and understand business imperatives.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of technical expertise, staying abreast of new technologies and practices.

  • Strong understanding of the business impact of IT tools, technologies, and policies.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the IT organization, management, and business.
