This position may require you to work weekends. A negative drug screen is required as a condition of employment. The purpose of the Clinical Therapist position is to provide therapeutic groups, individual therapy, treatment planning and assessments for the patients admitted to the hospital. The incumbent is identified as the primary therapist that assists the patient throughout their hospital stay with any situations related to their psychiatric care and treatment. This includes routine understanding of the therapy process, crisis intervention, assistance in post-discharge support to reduce re-hospitalization, revisions to the treatment plan and working across disciplines or with the Treatment Team. The essential functions of this position require physical strength to frequently push, pull, twist, bend, squat, walk, stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or restrain residents with or without assistance and respond to aggressive resident behavior with specific, trained techniques. Must be able to observe and respond to residents in distress. Osawatomie State Hospital Adair Acute Care is funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is subject to requirements bestowed by Federal and State levels of government conditions of participation. Qualifications: Education: Masters as a Social Worker, Psychologist, Psychotherapist Licensing & Certification: At the time of appointment, candidates for this position must possess a license or temporary license to practice as a Psychologist, Social Worker, or Psychotherapist in the State of Kansas with a masters degree. Minimum Qualifications: Licensed to practice in the State of Kansas with Masters Preferred Qualifications: Two years providing therapy to individuals in an inpatient setting. Positions in this class require that at the time of appointment the selected candidate must take and pass a drug screening test approved by the Division of Personnel Services. Persons hired must also pass a law enforcement security clearance in compliance with policies of the Department of Aging and Disability Services.
