The role you’ll contribute: Education Program Coordinator - Medical Assistant

Under the supervision of the Education Program Coordinator and/or the Executive Director of Clinical Strategic Initiatives – Medical Assistant (MA) functions to facilitate the goals and initiatives of the Clinical Education team. This position assists with clinical orientation, completion of clinical competencies and assessments, Fast Track Medical Assistant class, assist with all facets of the implementation of the MA career ladder, and works in conjunction with the AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) – Central Florida North Division (CFDN) Student Program to arrange student clinical rotations at AHMG-CFDN.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities :

· Actively instructs clinical orientation, clinical courses, and annual competency sessions.

· Develop and roll out training materials including, but not limited to, competency checklists for clinical skill and new/ongoing clinical courses.

· Serves as the trainer and effective mentor and educational resources to staff with emphasis on training new employees and employees identified as needing more training and providing feedback to leaders.

· Host training session for students participating in clinical courses including, but not limited to, Fast Track Medical Assistant and Clinical Ladder classes.

· Assist with onboarding of student externs, including, but not limited to, providing assistance and support to all students regarding the application process, supporting documents, orientation requirements; secures preceptor and ensures all documents and application are complete and approved prior to the student rotations.

· Assist with Environment of Care Surveys, including but not limited to participating in site surveys at offices throughout the North Region, ensure all offices are following best practices as relates to Environment of Care, supporting staff education opportunities to promote Environment of care initiative.

· Schedules and coordinates meetings, classes, and event sessions for new hire orientations and education events.

· Proctor certification exams

· Must have reliable transportation and valid drivers license to travel within CFD north region

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Minimum of a high school diploma

· Minimum of 2 years of related clinical experience with completion of externship OR 6 months relevant experience within an AdventHealth facility.

· Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:

American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA)

American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)

American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) for National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)

National Health career Association (NHA) for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

· Current, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

· Ability to speak and present to large groups.

· Ability to provide one-on-one training and give effective feedback.

· Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft technologies, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams; ability to learn new technologies and/or processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

·

· Experience as a clinical preceptor or trainer in designated role or field

· Experience supervising staff

· Experience teaching in formal/informal settings
