AVT Simulation Human Resources Generalist in Orlando, Florida

Job Summary

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and reports to the HR Director. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel;

  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; helps prepare and maintain the employee handbook and the policies and procedures.

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.

  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, auditing, and communicating benefits information to employees.

  • Completes various verification's of employment for employees.

  • Assists with various areas of recruitment including requisition tracking, offer letter tracking and serving as a back-up to the HR Director.

  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.

  • Assists with developing and maintaining AVT’s affirmative action program; helps file VETS-4212 annually; helps file EEO-1 annually; maintaining other records including I-9 documents, reporting and logging to conform to EEO regulations.

  • Helps audit W-2 and 1095-C documents annually.

  • Assists with generating, routing, and executing employee personnel changes.

  • Helps coordinate all areas of training for the company. Maintains employee training records.

  • Manages and tracks various company programs including tuition reimbursement and employee referrals.

  • Completes expense reports and invoice processing in our accounting system as necessary.

  • Responsible for entire preboarding, onboarding and offboarding process for all employees. Helps conduct new-employee orientation; helps conduct exit interviews.

  • Helps plan and execute employee morale and wellness program activities and events on a regular basis.

  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.

    Qualifications Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field.

  • A minimum of three to five years of generalist human resources experience required.

  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certifications, preferred.

  • Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations, preferred.

  • Proficient in HRIS and talent management systems

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee may be seated for long periods of time.

    The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
