Our location in Orlando, FL currently has an opportunity for a Finance Controller.

The Abbott Rapid & Molecular Diagnostics Orlando site is part of Global Business Services (GBS). As a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, the Finance Controller leads a large team in Orlando, FL and frequently interacts with RMDx HQ, Business Units and sister Abbott hubs. This role will ensure that the general accounting processes are compliant with standard operating procedures, Abbott Policies, and controls across all divisions and legal entities for their respective region. The successful candidate has strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills and the ability to interact with various levels of finance personnel, including senior leadership. This individual is accountable for ensuring the delivery of service commitments throughout RMDx

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate between FP&A, RMDx HQ, Abbott Hubs, and other functional areas to ensure an effective month-end close.

  • Identifies, develops, and implements processes to improve department performance.

  • Implement and review financial plans, strategies and new business initiatives including the support of business integration initiatives.

  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration across process owners to implement standard, efficient processes.

  • Works closely with accounting staff to meet deadlines and work with others in the organization to provide requested information from accounting groups as needed.

  • Communicate financial results across Business Units

  • Understand data validation techniques.

  • Regularly ensures that reporting delivered to internal customers is accurate, rich in actionable content and useful

  • Partner with GBS finance leaders and sister Abbott hubs to drive projects, improvements, and enhancements across the finance function.

  • Fosters a team collaboration of staff development, mentoring, performance management, engagement, and hiring.

  • Frequent interaction with other financial management across the Divisions, Corporate functions, and with Abbott's external and internal auditors.

  • Transfer knowledge to team members for their growth and advancement

  • Monitor Fiscal Authority Controls

  • Ensure that appropriate SOX Controls are integrated in all departments’ SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)

  • Oversee all Site Audits and develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external auditors.

  • Review of Actual Plan & Forecast with site managers during forecast Cycles.

  • Oversee the calculation, posting and relief of all significant balance sheet accruals and reserves.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • BS in Accounting / Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.

  • 8 - 10 years of Accounting/Finance experience required

  • 5+ years in Accounting/Finance leadership position required.

  • Extensive experience with SAP preferred.

  • Shared Service and/or Global Business Services experience preferred.

  • Business Analytics tool experience (PowerBI/Qlikview)

  • Advanced experience in Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
