The Work

As a Cyber Security Systems Engineer supporting the Naval Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (N-MRO) program, you will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate, and verify Cyber solutions across the lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

• Interfacing with cybersecurity customers and supporting vendors to ensure vulnerability assessments are being addressed.

• Implementation of security policies to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) objectives including monthly operating system (OS) and software patches and quarterly reviews of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).

• Assessing and driving mitigation efforts of system security threats/risks throughout the program lifecycle.

• Create Problem Tracking and Resolution (PTR) reports and the development of POAMs.

• Operate and troubleshoot issues in multiple environments to include AWS, RHEL 8, and Windows platforms.

• Understand, utilize, and manage the DevSecOps automation pipeline and software. factory to include Gitlab, JFrog Artifactory, SAST/SCA scans, Helm charts, and Kibana.

• Support the development and proposal of Basis of Estimate (BOEs).

• Conducting cyber risk assessment activities, including threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and analysis of mitigation solutions.

Who You Are

• Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity and software engineering.

• Experience in conducting cyber risk assessments and implementing security policies.

• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related cybersecurity processes.

• Familiarity with Software Assurance and secure coding

• Strong understanding of DevSecOps automation pipeline and software factory

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• The ability to lead, mentor, and support team members

• The ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

Candidate must be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret level government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

A level 4 employee is typically senior-career and has 7 to 9+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 9+ years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience required with a related Masters degree.

• Demonstrated performance leading teams

• Expertise in at least one of the following: Linux, Windows, or RHEL 8.

• Ability to analyze security reports and develop/implement a plan to mitigate security vulnerabilities.

• Experience working on a DevSecOps domain & Software factory

• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance.

• Must be willing to travel up to 10%.

Desired Skills:

• Master’s degree or higher in relevant field

• Sec+ or 8570/8140 compliance certification

• Proficient in C#, C++, Python, or PowerShell

• Demonstrate verbal & written communication skills

• Experience working in an AGILE environment

• Experience using JIRA/Confluence Atlassian web-based tools.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
