A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Commodity Management Professional includes negotiation with suppliers, supplier relationship management, business case and sourcing strategy preparation/execution, reporting, problem solving, supply chain risk mitigation as well as alignment meetings with internal/external x-functional team.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop a competitive supplierportfolio through continuous assessment of the supplier base performancesagainst relevant business KPIs (costs, performance, quality, etc.).

  • Define and implement aCommodity and Pooling strategies upon close alignment with crossfunctional stakeholders, such as Operative Procurement, Engineering andFinance/Controlling.

  • Translate the global commoditystrategy (Ecosystem) into Business Unit specific strategy and update thisdocumentation regularly.

  • Communicate and teach thecommodity strategy to stakeholders to ensure the proper execution.

  • Negotiate purchasing agreementsand quotes for engineering services.

  • Manage and foster the long-termrelationship with key suppliers and reduce dependencies on avoidablesuppliers.

  • Support market & supplieranalysis and perform supplier scouting initiatives based on demands withinour R&D Functions.

  • Ensure PVO transparency forassigned commodities, correct ESN coding to ensure a correct reporting andto derive an appropriate commodity strategy.

  • Identify specific procurementrisks, opportunities, and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploitpotential opportunities through tailored risk/opportunity management.

  • Comply and / or enforce theprotocols, policies, guidelines, and proficiencies of the current integralmanagement system (EHS, Quality).

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’sdegree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or relatedfield.

  • Aminimum of 5+ years of collective experience working in Supply Chain,Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering Technical Knowledge

  • Experiencemanaging Long Term Contracts and negotiating complex terms and conditions.

  • Advancedskills in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

  • Familiarwith operations in SAP.

  • English,at professional working proficiency level.

  • Willingnessto travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of time.

  • Collaborativeapproach to working within a team environment; a consensus builder.

  • Youenjoy processing, sharing and interpreting information in a globalteam.

  • Excellentcommunication Skills.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment inthe United States without need for current or future employer-sponsoredwork authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorshipmay be eligible for internal transfers.
