Position Announcement
Utah Valley University is looking for a creative and talented part-time Designer to join our School of Education (SOE) team! Under the direction of the SOE Dean and the SOE MarCom Manager, you will design and create printed and digital materials, producing professional layouts for SOE publications and various departmental needs. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the university's brand and contribute to graphic production. Additionally, you will assist in updating and maintaining the school archive with completed projects and content, and design digital content for school and department campaigns. Summary of Responsibilities
• Designing and creating printed and digital materials for various uses throughout the School of Education, including the website. Designing and producing professional layouts for School of Education publications.
• Foster key relationships with vendors, executive level staff, university marketing, university printing, and the mail room to oversee the production and distribution of marketing materials.
• Maintains the School of Education/UVU's brand, contributes to the graphics production for the SOE. Assists in the maintenance of the school archive by updating projects and content.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree and one year experience in managing a portfolio of creative projects or an associate degree with three years experience in similar duties or any combination of education and experience totaling five years.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
• Knowledge of graphic design and the creative process.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of digital publishing applications such as After Effects, and/or editing programs including Premier or Final Cut Pro a plus.
• Knowledge of web design applications, including UX/UI.
• Knowledge of print production.
• Knowledge of brand or working within the established brand.
• Knowledge of print and product materials and working with vendors.
• Skills in the use of personal computers and graphic design related software applications, including Canva, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
• Skills in interpersonal communication, problem-solving and decision-making.
• Highly organized with baseline project management skills.
• Ability to prepare quality printed promotional/communication materials.
• Ability to produce professional illustrations using various mediums.
• Ability to be flexible with creative design.
• Ability to manage challenging workload with multiple timelines.
• Ability to use a digital camera.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and archive files and records.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and executes activities for current students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and personalities.
