WOLVERINE FUELS Outby Foreman - Fossil Rock Mine in ORANGEVILLE, Utah

Job Summary: The Outby Foreman is responsible for overseeing all outby operations in an underground coal mine to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production. This position involves supervising crew members, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise outby operations, including material handling, ventilation control, and belt maintenance.

Coordinate with other departments to ensure uninterrupted coal production and mine safety.

Enforce all safety policies, regulations, and MSHA standards.

Conduct daily safety inspections and address hazards in the outby areas.

Monitor and maintain equipment, such as belt drives, power centers, and pumping systems.

Train and mentor crew members to promote a safety-first culture and ensure operational efficiency.

Coordinate the delivery and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment in outby areas.

Collaborate with the engineering team to implement ventilation plans and other technical requirements.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, safety inspections, and equipment usage.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in underground coal mining, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Current MSHA certifications (Mine Foreman or ability to obtain).
  • Strong knowledge of underground mining operations, safety standards, and equipment maintenance.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in challenging underground conditions, including physical labor as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capacity to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Tolerance for working in a noisy, dusty, and humid environment with limited lighting.

Schedule:

  • Full-time position 4 on 4 off 12-hour schedule
