Duties Description - Conduct independent neuroimaging research projects aimed to advance the understanding of neural mechanisms of psychiatric illnesses and contribute to the development of novel treatments. This includes generating research questions, developing study designs and analytic plans, and securing institutional approval (and funding as needed), collecting the data required to test hypotheses- Compete for federal research funding in the broad field of cognitive and psychiatric neuroscience- Apply cutting-edge Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques, including task and resting-state functional MRI (fMRI), and conduct analyses using a myriad of techniques, such as psychophysiological interaction and connectome analyses, on behavioral and neuroimaging data to identify neurobiological markers related to symptomatology and clinical heterogeneity in OCD and depression, with a focus on sensory symptoms associated with these disorders- Apply specialized cross-correlational analyses comparing neuroimaging and behavioral data between individuals with OCD and their unaffected biological siblings in order to identify endophenotypes of OCD and markers related to both risk and resilience- Employ non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation with advanced modeling of electric fields, to investigate the effects of modulating activity in neurobiological markers on clinical phenomenology- Supervise junior research staff (e.g. research coordinators and postdoctoral fellows) to ensure successful completion of delegated tasks - Collaborate with cross-disciplinary researchers, community partners, and other stakeholders- Prepare project reports, summaries, presentations, and manuscripts for publication
Minimum Qualifications Minimum: • Bachelor’s degree and five years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or master’s degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, or Ph.D in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience.Preferred:• Substantial experience conducting fMRI data acquisition and analysis in individuals with psychiatric disorders• Established track record of first author publications in neuroimaging and obsessive-compulsive disorder• Experience applying non-invasive neuromodulation techniques to individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder• Experience with publishing, presenting, and analyzing neuroimaging data including task-based fMRI and functional connectivity• Experience with Matlab, SPM, FSL, Conn, SimNibs, Localite Neuronavigation System, MagVenture TMS Suite, EPrime• Experience with running subjects through TMS and MRI protocols
