Catholic Health Initiatives Speech Language Pathologist PRN in Omaha, Nebraska

Overview

Schedule Requirements: Min 2 weekend shifts per month (Sat or Sun) and 2 holidays per year

Compensation: $47.50/hr with time and a half pay for holidays

In support of the mission and vision of CHI Health, speech language pathologists provide evaluations, care planning, direct treatment and work as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary team in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Care planning, patient/care-giver education, positive and professional physician and payer communication is expected in this role. Individuals in this role assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in adults and children. This role requires a strong knowledge and application of applicable laws, regulation and professional standards as it relates to speech language pathology service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provides speech language evaluations, care planning, patient treatment and education according to the professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources.

  • Works as a collaborative team member to develop a coordinated care plan that is accountable to achievement of established goals.

  • Is knowledgable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state and federal law.

  • Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice. Periodically attends team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures

  • Takes responsibility to stay current with evidenced based practice guidelines, stays current with new research introduced and serves as a professional resource to other team members in the area of speech language practice in a medical setting.

  • In support of the academic health mission of the organization, periodically accepts assignment of student clinical education at all levels of clinical training.

  • Completes all mandatory education requirements around patient safety, quality security, infection prevention assigned by established timeframes and consistently demonstrates competency in daily practice.

Qualifications

Required Education for Staff Job Levels

Minimum of a Masters from an accredited Speech Language Pathology School.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Active speech therapy license in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or speech therapy licensure compact. Basic life support is required upon hire. Must obtain CCC status from American Speech Language Assocation within 18 months of hire.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

High level of competence in both written and verbal communication, conducts self in a professional manner at all times, works well in a team environment, strong knowledge of all applicable laws, regulations and professional standards relating to Speech Lanaguage Pathology.

PREFERRED Qualifications

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) completed.

Pay Range

$47.50 - $47.50 /hour
