Position Details:

 

The engineer in this position will develop and deliver programs to support energy efficiency and distributed onsite clean energy generation by partners across the Northwest, with a focus on industrial clients ranging in size and business type. The person in this position will lead the Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership, support programs such as our community solar programs, and act as a technical resource for other diverse projects within Washington State University's Energy Program. This position will be responsible for leading or contributing to grant writing/ project development and reporting, technical assistance and client interface, and education efforts.

Required Qualifications

 

• Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline and three (3) years of related professional-level engineering experience. A Master's degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. A Professional Engineer's license may be required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Registration as a professional engineer in the State of Washington. Mechanical engineer or power engineer preferred.

 

• Experience in developing and implementing energy efficiency programs, analyzing commercial or industrial facilities for their combined heat and power system potential, and/or with evaluating sites for onsite energy generation (e.g. wind, solar, geothermal).

 

• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

 

• Excellent oral and written communications skills.

 

• Demonstrated computer skills with energy system performance analysis software, databases, spreadsheets and word processing applications.

 

• Knowledge of potential funding sources, and experience developing proposals for funding.

 

Additional Information:

 

This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.

 

Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on June 30, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.

 

Monthly Salary: $6,252.57 - $8,897.89 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
