Project Engineer NPD Logistics

Location: Olive Branch, MS

Your Role on Our Team:

The Project Engineer will work with NPD teams to provide guidance to “Design for Distribution” to best meet our customer’s needs. They will provide logistics insight and cost optimization guidance considering a total landed cost model for new products and existing portfolio. Will coordinate with Operations leadership to assess, problem solve, and optimize logistics efficiency.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Work with Business units and New Product Development teams to assess the distribution readiness of new product introductions.

  • Assess opportunities to improve product flow through a SC and to our customers.

  • Identify product attributes or ordering plans that could impact costs, service, and efficient material flow through ours and or customers supply chain.

  • Identify opportunities for efficient flow of goods and develop mitigation strategies for NPD or existing portfolio challenges.

  • Work cross functionally with Operations, Business units, finance, and commercial teams to improve NPD launches and ongoing costs.

  • Review current portfolio for cost and customer service optimization.

  • Ability to quickly assess product attributes and ordering patterns that will drive cost and service impacts.

  • Provide Logistics alternatives to solve product Go to market challenges.

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Degree in Logistics or Engineering preferred.

  • 5-10 years Distribution and Transportation experience.

  • Knowledgeable of the product portfolio.

  • Understanding of NPD process and go to market strategy.

  • Understands the material flow of product and product characteristics that influence transportation and material handling cost.

  • Understanding of customer base and their service/logistics needs.

  • Analytical skills and ability to develop landed cost or financial models.

  • Understanding of OSHA, Hazardous goods storage and transportation requirements.

Other TOOLS, we prefer you to have:

  • Packaging experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of transportation processes

  • Ability to manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel 5-10%

  • Light lifting, bending, and stooping.

  • Location: Olive Branch, MS or Brookfield, WI
