Job Title: Pest Control Specialist
Organization: Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority
Incentives: \$2500 sign-on bonus, longevity pay, performance based paid bonus, and employer paid meal program.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough inspections of detention center facilities to identify pest infestations and areas of concern.
- Develop and implement effective pest management strategies tailored to the unique needs of a detention environment.
- Utilize various pesticides, insecticides, and methods to exterminate pests, ensuring the safety and health of all individuals within the facility.
- Collaborate closely with detention center staff to coordinate pest control efforts while adhering to safety protocols.
- Keep accurate records of pest control activities, including treatments applied, pest sightings, and recommendations for prevention.
- Train and educate detention center staff on best practices for pest prevention and control.
- Complete a full detention academy to understand the operational and security aspects of the facility.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to pest control and pesticide application.
- Provide clear and concise communication regarding pest control procedures to all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in eradicating bed bugs, roaches, mice, and other pests within detention or similar environments.
- Valid pesticide applicator license or certification.
- Completion of a full detention academy or willingness to complete the training program.
- Strong knowledge of pest control products, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a secure and controlled environment, including potential contact with incarcerated individuals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt pest control strategies to changing conditions.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Physical fitness and stamina required for regular movement and inspections within the detention center.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed.
