Roles & Responsibilities:
Successfully execute design and development tasks to provide engineering solutions
Determine serviceable and repairable limits for hardware based on engineering assessments and background research
Present work to customers at product reviews
Generate design documentation such as product review material, tolerance stacks, and design layout
Work as part of a cohesive design engineering team
Understand requirements and evaluate new product structural integrity and functionality in support of meeting those requirements
Conceptualize and prepare preliminary and final detail design and documentation of systems components and assemblies
Review and approve the technical work of other design engineers
Provide guidance and develop the capabilities of other design engineers
Support the quotation and effort estimation of design tasks
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
3-6 years of experience in Design Engineering
Familiarity with Gas Turbine Engine and the Propulsion Systems
General knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing techniques (castings, metal cutting, turning, coatings, milling, EDM, welding, sheet metal/composite forming and joining, metal tube bending), and industry standards
General knowledge of GD&T and ability to perform tolerance stacks
Blueprint reading, understanding and transfer ability
Strong communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Strong analytic skills including Root Cause Analysis, Strength of Materials, Statics
Due to nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizen
Desired Skills:
- Experience with design analysis of airfoil hardware
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
