SERVICE EXPERTS LLC Journeyman Plumber in OGDEN, Utah

JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the general supervision of an administrative superior, performs general Journeyman level plumbing duties at various facilities. Installs, maintains, services, and repairs a variety of plumbing systems throughout Weber County including other maintenance needed as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Installs, repairs, renovates, and maintains plumbing fixtures, water and sewer lines drainage, waste, and storm drain systems, swamp coolers, drinking fountains, wet pipe sprinkler systems, booster, recirculation pumps, cooling towers, boilers and water heaters.

Installs, repairs, adjusts, or replaces automatic sprinkler/irrigation systems to include electrical and mechanical devices.

Conducts regular inspections of facilities to determine maintenance needs.

Applies water management practices in buildings.

Performs annual winterization and spring startup of irrigation systems including sprinkler systems, irrigation and culinary water lines, pumps, and drinking fountains evaporative coolers and building systems.

Operates and maintains equipment such as backhoes, trackhoes and trenchers.

Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies, materials, tools, and equipment to accomplish work assignments.

Assists with the installati on, maintenance, and monitoring of central irrigation control equipment.

Assists other trades when necessary with maintenance and repairs including snow removal and maintenance for County properties as needed.

Responds to emergency situations during non-regular work hours.

Reads, interprets, and works from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints; maintains an inventory of commonly used materials, supplies, and parts.

Assists in other construction and remodel projects of county properties.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education: High School Diploma.

Experience: Three (3) years of diversified experience in building plumbing maintenance activities, one (1) year must have been in a position equivalent to that of a Journeyman Plumber, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):

Knowledge: Need to be confident in approved water management practices. Must be comfortable with the use of proper hand and power tools needed to perform plumbing/irrigation tasks, and safety measures when using them. Must practice proper safety procedures common to plumbing/irrigation/sprinkler work. Must know and follow Local, State and Federal laws governing the installation and operation of plumbing and irrigation systems.

Abilities: Ability to lead and organize the work of others. Ability to read, interpret, and work from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints. Ability to make cost estimates of time and materials. Ability to prepare and maintain routine records. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to perform moderately strenuous manual labor for extended periods of time. Ability to make decisions and work independently, as well as working with other individuals as a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relati onshi ps with employees, other departments, and the general public. Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and documents on all work performed each day.

*YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS *:

Must possess a current Utah State Journeyman's Plumbing License.

Must possess a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Utah and have ability to operate a vehicle and have a good driving record.

Must be available to be on call 24 hours a day; must have a telephone.

Must be adaptable to changing work hours as shift hours may be varied.

Working days would include weekends, and holidays; and working hours could include early mornings and late nights.

Employees may be required to be on call for holiday and weekend checks.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
