Job Description

The Tech Leader of the Hospital IT Staff is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the technological infrastructure and operations within the healthcare facility. They lead a team of IT professionals, ensuring seamless functionality, security, and innovation in the hospital's digital systems. This position demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare IT requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including network administrators, system analysts, database administrators, and technical support staff.

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the hospital's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems.

  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of patient data and compliance with relevant regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

  • System Integration: Collaborate with other departments to integrate IT systems with clinical and administrative workflows, facilitating efficient operations and improving patient care.

  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that services meet the hospital's requirements and standards.

  • Technology Planning and Innovation: Develop and implement technology strategies aligned with the hospital's objectives, staying abreast of emerging trends and innovations in healthcare IT.

  • Technical Support: Provide escalated technical support for complex issues, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring timely resolution to minimize disruptions to hospital operations.

  • Training and Development: Identify training needs within the IT team and coordinate professional development activities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the IT department budget, allocating resources effectively to support departmental goals and initiatives.

  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain plans for disaster recovery and business continuity, ensuring that critical systems and data are protected and can be restored in the event of a disruption.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position within a healthcare setting.

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), or CHCIO (Certified Healthcare CIO) are highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare IT systems, electronic health records (EHR), 3rd party clinical and business applications, medical imaging systems, healthcare compliance regulations.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence collaborators at all levels.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects from conception to implementation, on time and within budget.

  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, security principles, and emerging technologies relevant to healthcare organizations.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $80,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
