Responsibilities Responsible for assisting with planning and conducting investigations covering alleged improper business practices, mismanagement, property discrepancies, cash variances, suspected minor criminal activity, and other subjects that may result in administrative judgments, sanctions, or penalties. Assists in the investigative process of interviewing, researching of records, preparation of comprehensive reports and following leads and in the collection of information using various surveillance techniques. Communicates with local law enforcement agencies to validate legality, technical soundness, and recommendations for disciplinary actions on cases submitted for action. Ensures that all investigations are conducted within the criteria established under applicable laws, procedures, and regulations. Assist the manager in the overall operation, supervision, and administration of the facility and assumes all duties and responsibilities in the absence of the manager. Assist in the supervision of assigned employees, approves/disapproves leave requests and completes performance evaluations. Assists with the preparation of annual activity operational budget, other reports and documents. Plan, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Assist in the planning, troubleshooting, , and managing of all the electronic security surveillance equipment and operations. Which mainly includes (CCTV, NVR¿s, and Physical Access control). Supervises the use of equipment, facilities, and operations at the CCTV Control during shift and takes appropriate action to maintain full and proper functioning of the same. Responsible for ensuring that the CCTV network is fully functioning and working to the operational requirements. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Three (3) years experience is required within the loss prevention field, including conducting interviews, taking statements, preparing detailed reports, analyzing data analytics. Supervisory experience required. Knowledge of investigative legal principles to include: observation and description, search and seizures and rules of evidence. Must be able to gain a complete understanding of ethernet cables, CCTV troubleshooting and basic networking concepts. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. May be required to perform duties outside of normal working hours in cases of active surveillance, robbery, natural disasters, and emergencies involving MCCS property. Must be willing to travel to other MCI-West Installations. Must be able to gain a complete understanding of MCCS policies, orders, and regulations. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. GUN CONTROL ACT DUTY STATEMENT FOR COVERED POSITIONS This is a covered position for the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act for Department of the Navy civilian personnel. Due to contact with firearms, or ammunition in accomplishing work, DD Form 2760 certifying whether or not a qualifying conviction for a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence has occurred MUST be completed. The continuing obligation to notify the immediate supervisor of any qualifying conviction through completion of DD Form 2760 is REQUIRED. Will be required to successfully complete and obtain/maintain a favorable background investigation at the ANACI level.
