Aston Carter Controller in Oakland Park, Florida

This position will primarily focus on month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records. While tax preparation is not required as it is managed by our CPA, proficiency in accrual-based accounting and financial reporting is essential. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience in processing payments to vendors and subcontractors.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.

  • Process vendor and subcontractor payments accurately and timely.

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions in accordance with GAAP principles and company policies.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports.

  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and support budgeting processes.

  • Participate in external audits and provide necessary documentation and support.

  • Assist in special projects and process improvements as needed.
