As a Custom Protection Officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Government and more.

Pay:

$35.00/HR

Responsibilities:

  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle

  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards

  • Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities

  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner

  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience

  • Must possess one or more of the following:

  • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone

  • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field

  • Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies

  • A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch

  • Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service

As an Armed Transit Security Officer you will be required to assume a number of different positions related to Transit Patrol. The ability to assume different positions and display proficiency in the different roles is essential. While Allied Universal would never intentionally place an officer in a dangerous situation, the job can be inherently dangerous in nature. Situations may arise that require quick thinking and action that are the hallmark to the armed officer’s ability to observe and report.

The Armed Transit Security Officer will be fully trained and meet all the requirements of the Security Transit Patrol Officer program. The Armed Transit Security Officer is responsible for the enforcement of CLIENT security guidelines. The Armed Transit Security Officer must be fully trained and thoroughly knowledgeable of all CLIENT security guidance’s, CLIENT operating procedures, security procedures, practices and site interior/exterior layout. They must be capable of guidance enforcement, consistency and cooperation between CLIENT employees, contractors, and visitors. The Armed Security Patrol Office must possess strong interpersonal skills and must demonstrate excellent communication skills. Armed Transit Security Officer works under the direct supervision of the Allied Universal Management and CLIENT Protective Services Personnel.

General Responsibilities:

  • Implement the daily activities of armed security personnel as assigned to shift and facility. He or she must also be knowledgeable of all site & Allied Universal policies and procedures; security and preliminary emergency response operations; and personnel oversight and coaching principles.

  • Works as direct liaison for Security and customers to enforce all security site guidance’s and posted regulations.

  • Ensure and accept responsibility for the interior and exterior patrols of all assigned buildings, grounds and designated parking areas and verify site access guidelines.

  • Receives, and executes directions of the Security Account Management with close coordination of Protective Services, in the implementation of security procedures throughout the system

  • Demonstrated ability in Systems Skills for the CCURE System:

  • Implement escalation procedures to support CLIENT’s Policies and provide solutions to assist in changing issues associated with each division’s issues.

  • Provide on-line incident report documentation including the initial investigative process and escalation of investigations and events as well as mitigation advice and guidance to reporting parties.

  • Ensures cross training and opportunity/scenario training (drills) for each shift member in coordination with Security Management in future planned drills.

  • Mentors, coaches and works as a team to deliver a superior security force.

  • A complete understanding of site emergency procedures.

  • Analyze security activities, make appropriate adjustments or recommend improvements.

  • CLIENT Shift Specialists may provide independent support or escalation to Security Management to accommodate complex situations comfortably.

  • Participate in Daily Briefings and/ or pass-on information to other Shift Supervisors as necessary.

  • Recommends policy, training, rewrite for procedures/processes.

  • Communicate and interface effectively with a pleasant “Customer Service” tone to all CLIENT Corporation, vendors and Allied Universal personnel. Ensures all staff members of your shift conduct themselves in the same manner.

  • Maintain a professional attitude, appearance, and image at all times. Ensure all staff members of your shift conduct themselves in the same manner.

  • Conduct daily reports of inspections for all Patrol Audits conducted by your shift.

  • Other duties assigned or prescribed in Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of Armed Security, Law Enforcement, Military or a combination of them preferred.

  • Demonstrate the appetitive required to train in multiple positions including revenue collection.

  • Have a valid CA driver’s license with a clean DMV report.

  • Must have strong report writing skills and have knowledge of proper submittal and filing of the reports.

  • Excellent computer Skills in MSWord, Excel, Power Point.

  • Type a minimum of 35 wpm with an 80% accuracy rate.

  • Working knowledge of CCURE or other Alarm systems.

  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, managers, and security staff.

  • Exposed Firearms permit with .40 caliber, OC spray and Baton and demonstrate proficiency in use and handling of all.

  • Availability to work all 3 shifts all days.

  • This individual must be self-motivated requiring minimal supervision and capable of anticipating requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Qualified applicants for the Armed Professional Security Officer position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines

  • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills

  • Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions

  • Must be able to obtain a valid Guard License and Armed Guard License as required in the state for which you are applying

  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test

  • As a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of all required License at all times, and must carry the license at all times while on duty

  • Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills

  • Remain flexible to ever changing environments; adapt well to different situations

  • Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites

  • Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard;

  • Neat and professional appearance

  • Ability to provide quality customer service

  • Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

  • Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones

  • Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment)
