Emerson ICL Manufacturing Engineer in NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Transfer processes, products, lines, and equipment.

  • Define the operating parameters from the engineering and operational point of view.

  • Design fixtures, manufacturing drawings and assemblies applicable to the needs of the company.

  • Validate the material structures of the products, as well as the calculation of times and definition of routines.

  • Implement techniques for measuring productivity and efficiency, as well as improvements to the flow of Layouts.

  • Supervise processes and analyze failures to implement prevention actions.

  • Develop manuals and training material as well as the delivery of courses.

  • Manage the processes and projects so that they align with the guidelines of safety, health and environment as well as Branson and Emerson's internal procedures.

  • Responsible for participating and complying with the programs of training.

  • Actively participate in cost reduction.

  • Detail the assembly instructions and visual aids.

  • Lead multifunctional product development teams on topics related to the assigned project.

  • Perform updates on Oracle system when required.

  • Assist in training of technicians, and personnel from the same or other departments when required.

  • Provide recommendations on specifications for existing products manufacture.

  • Provide follow up on discrepancies found in routings and product structure.

  • Transfer production between plants (foreign to Mexico).

  • Generate Engineering Change requests (CRs) as required.

  • Generate and follow up of Release to Manufacture (RM) as required.

  • Participate on the Engineering to Order projects ensuring that the committed dates on the program schedules are met.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics or Industrial Engineering).

  • Design Computers skills, experience in 3D CAD such as SolidWorks.

  • Verbal and written communication skills sufficient for an effective relationship with your coworkers and other departments.

  • Skills for managing software such as MS Office, database management, ERP functions.

  • Intermediate/Sophisticated English.

  • Management/Leadership skills for the efficient management of its resources, engaging with the team for continuous improvement.

  • Availability to travel to the U.S.

  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing process experience.

  • Work and coordination with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Proactivity, Self-motivation and focus on continuous improvement.

  • Experience using CAD tools like Solid Works and/or Solid Edge

  • Knowledge of Engineering change management.

  • Must be well organized, a team-player, and possess effective communication skills.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, SPC, Gauge R&R, Six Sigma DMAIC, production line design and ISO9001.

  • CAD modeling experience.

  • Mechanical Design knowledge.

  • Interpretation of engineering specifications for mechanical components.

  • Capable of developing basic tolerance stack-ups and has good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks.

  • Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.

  • Knowledge on general metrology.
